Sonic 1: KawariNo :: First Look Playthrough (1080p/60fps)
490Sonic 1: KawariNo is a Rom Hack of Sonic The Hedgehog created by MrLordSith.
This Rom Hack showcases an inspiration towards the Prototype/Beta with many elements being shown such as characters sprite's - Sonic, Robotnik, and a couple of new badniks that are actually seen in the prototype/beta. The most that got my attention, Level Design & Artwork, especially with the way all Act 3's look with its transistion to the next zone. The level order has changed to what most people have usually seen in the level select on the original game. Also really liking all the soundtracks that changed.
Few notable cool features; For one, if you have 50 rings and are close by to the finish, there's a Special Stage Ring, however, it's considered a Bonus Stage, meaning you can grab rings and possibly extra lives. The other one, Chaos Emeralds are scattered in hidden places in each zone (reference to Sonic 1 & 2 GG/SMS). The first emerald is located in the first act of Green Hill, specifically the upper route, I passed by it when I took the lower route.
Something to note here, while going through Scrap Brain Act 3, I encountered an in floor glitch in an underwater section (39:41) which lead to me losing a life and cutting that portion out, luckily what you can do is simply jump.
