EDIT 3: Why Knuckles is blue:
Well Sonic isn't supposed to fight Super Mecha Sonic, as he's Knuckles' final boss.
I used the stage select to access him.

Since the ending loads Knuckles' sprite but the game's currently using Sonic's pallette, .. you get a Blue Knuckles.
There you go! Stop asking. :P

EDIT 2: Level select is used to access Hyper Metal Sonic. Stop asking how to access him! XD

EDIT: See the video response "Lava Reef Bosses" for a reuploaded version .. of.. the Lava Reef bosses. I have no idea what Youtube did to that section of the video, the other upload is watchable!
The majority of the bosses from Sonic and Knuckles. The video ends at the alternate Final Boss (Super Mecha Sonic).

This run is recorded as Sonic, and with the exception where the shield is useless, I use the optimal shields for the quickest times.

Unlike Sonic 3, there doesn't seem to be a really effective shield this time. Sonic's Sub-Spin still slaughters the bosses mind.

Unfortunately three of the battles in Sonic and Knuckles CANNOT be defeated quickly, as they have to kill themselves. URGH.

Couple of notes:
1) To get a fire-shield in Mushroom Hill, use a special stage.
2) I've only just noticed how close the Mushroom Hill boss was to hitting me. Jeeze cutting it a BIT close.
3) The Flying Battery sub-boss cannot be defeated any quicker.
4) Hey! A use for the Water Shield in Sonic and Knuckles! What are the odds!?
5) Yep. That's the quickest way to beat the Sandoplis sub-boss. Boring isn't it?
6) Do not attempt to kill the Lava Reef sub-boss in that manner. Oh. My. God that was hard to pull off.
7) The Lava Reef boss takes up most of the video, because its on a timer. Sorry. Skip to 5.30 if you wish.
8) Also.. I didn't mean to pick up the fire shield for that boss either. Sure it makes it easier but takes away any skill in the battle. I treat the fight as though I didn't have the shield.
9) Lol. Knuckles. He's a bit thick.
10) I use level select to access Knuckles' version of Sky Sanctuary.
This explains the difference in score and the messed up ending. Ok?

And as before.. I don't get Emeralds because I don't want Super Sonic. Super Sonic vs Bosses = dull.
