Due to the complexity of Sonic 3 & Knuckles in terms of mechanics, and its neat separation into zones, I've elected to split my S3&K tutorials up by zone. (Splitting by act doesn't work, since some act 2s require things to be set up from act 1 of the same zone.)

Here I look at Ice Cap, which is significantly broken by the slope glitch. The fact that this method works at all owes itself to the unique structure of Ice Cap: in this stage, "act 2" begins in the hallway just before the boss, not at the boss as it does in most other stages.

One thing I failed to mention: if for whatever reason Robotnik ends up on the left side of the screen, make sure you wait until he leaves the screen to the right before hitting the capsule. If he's still on screen when it explodes, it can cause the results screen not to work properly, not giving you back control causing the game to softlock.
