This is my Sonic 3 & Knuckles New Game+ speedrun in 40:40, as timed by the RTA minus Time Bonus method. The run is timed in real time with the length of the time bonuses subtracted. For example, the 50000 time bonus counts down for 500 frames, or 8.33 seconds. This is the fairest way to time the game because it means you are never penalised for completing a stage faster, but time spent between stages (and paused) is also counted.

This run starts from a save file with all 14 emeralds already collected, which distinguishes it from the All Emeralds run. Hyper Sonic also opens up some possibilities in Sonic 3 that aren't possible in that run!

Thanks to stream viewer Sophira for creating the LiveSplit module that makes timing this a load easier!
