Tails' flying can get him above the beginning path Sonic has to take. I also go back to get the Special Stage ring that I would've gotten otherwise.

According to Yuji Naka, Tails is too young(and too cute) to harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds, yet. This is why he can't turn into Super Tails with them.

Until I get up to Mushroom Hill, this playthrough will continue on with a regular Tails. Those huge rings will still give him 50 rings, though.

If you use your wit to complete the whole game without the Super Emeralds, but with the Chaos Emeralds, it will at least show you an alternate Good Ending, one that probably plays out the same way it would in a solo Sonic & Knuckles.

That magnetic Bonus Stage must know that I needed a Water Shield, with how many times I ended up getting a Fire Shield instead. You will not find any Fire Shields in Hydrocity, and for a very good reason.
