After narrowly escaping Prison Island, Sonic, Tails, and Amy discover what Dr. Eggman intends to do with the Chaos Emeralds. After seeing the Eclipse Cannon blow up half the moon, Sonic, Tails, and Amy realize they don't have much time. However, before they can do anything the police begin chasing after them leading to another chase through the city, this time with Tails. Meanwhile, Knuckles is still looking for the pieces of the Master Emerald. This takes him up into the mountains and deep within an abandoned mine.
