15In less than 20 minutes, the Space Colony ARK will crash into the Earth, destroying both itself and the entire planet.
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Rouge, and Eggman teamed up to head towards the Eclipse Cannon's Core to stop it... but they left Amy behind AGAIN.
But Amy was not alone in where she was. She found Shadow, gazing at the planet that he was about to destroy. Amy begged for Shadow to help her and her friends out with saving the world.
Amy opened her heart out to Shadow about how millions of people aren't like the few monsters that killed Maria and drove Gerald to revenge; that the world is worth saving to allow all of the good people in it to live on and chase their dreams. Amy just wanted Shadow to give humanity a chance.
From Amy's heartful words... Shadow remembered Maria's final words to him...
The truth of Maria's promise was not a promise of revenge against mankind, but rather a promise to protect mankind.

Sonic & Knuckles reached the Cannon's Core together. The core just so happened to look just like Knuckles' Master Emerald Shrine in Angel Island. No wonder the Chaos Emeralds were involved with powering the Eclipse Cannon.
The core had its own security system that was unleashed when the two got closer to it. A swath of messages of Gerald announcing his revenge spread across the room, and a monster was summoned. The Ultimate Lifeform prototype: The Biolizard!
Shadow very quickly reached this area, and stepped in to battle against his predecessor.

You will be doing a lot of circling around this monster to dodge its mouth, tail, and dark blasts. When it gets tired, you will grind on its pipes to reach and Homing Attack the core resting on its back.
When its health is low enough, it drops releases pink orbs that you can use your Homing Attack on to still reach its core.
When it's on its last bit of health, the gravity in the area drops and forces Shadow to float. You carefully have to land on the machine that houses the core, so you can then jump and Homing Attack the core one last time to finish The Biolizard off!
