It's pretty amazing that we are at a point where we see remakes of older Sonic fangames. In this case a remake of Sonic After The Sequel, no to be confused with Sonic After The Sequel Omega, the latter which is akin to a remaster that improves most areas... and drops the ball completely by making boss fights a rather frustrating mess.

Sonic After The Sequel '23 aims to recreate the original Sonic After The Sequel with improved controls, revamped level design as well smoother sprites. Right now it's only an alpha demo that features 2 acts, being Horizon Heights Acts 2 and 3 and so far I'm very impressed. One nitpick would be that the game when played with Vsync on has some input delay at 60 Hz refresh rate, issue alleviated if switched to a higher refresh rate (144 Hz in my case) though it makes the recorded footage look choppy at points as a consequence.

Can't wait to see this Sonic fangame completed (if the name is anything to go by, then we'll have to wait a couple more years).
