Sonic CD (Mixed Music Run) Part 7: Metallic Madness Zone & Good Ending
As appropriate as it already is, Metallic Madness is the last zone of this game, and is similar to Scrap Brain, the last main zone of Sonic 1. Both zones even change their backgrounds between Act 1 & 2.
--------------
This zone's theme is also similar to Wacky Workbench's. The Present is presented as Eggman's last base, with a lot of of threatening machinery everywhere. Even more so than Wacky Workbench.
The Past still has the whole base under construction, and apparently has a more pinkish look to it.
The Good Future is probably the game's best example of a Good Future. Almost everything is more peaceful, as technology and nature are in prefect harmony. Even both versions of the song agree.
The Bad Future is similar to Wacky Workbench's, as everything is brown and worn out. This once again somehow makes the whole place more threatening than in the present, despite the whole zone being based on Eggman's work to begin with. What neglect!
--------------
Act 2 is unique in that there are ceiling lasers that shrink Sonic. He's has to go through most of the rest of this Act at this size and use a different laser to return to normal near the end.
Act 3 is where things close up, unlike Sonic 1, 2, and 3&K which all have a separate zone for that. The final boss isn't that impressive as the ones in those games, either. Still, it's worth seeing the ending.
--------------
The Good Ending, the one for getting a Good Future in all zones, or all of the Time Stones, has Sonic recusing Amy as Eggman's control over Little Planet explodes. Being completely purified, Little Planet vanishes into a different dimension, planning to return sometime within the following year. Sonic then strikes a dynamic pose over his victory.
The following credits also show more of Sonic's adventure throughout this game in anime-style.
This was me playing the original Sega (Mega) CD version. Had this been the PC/Sonic Gems Collection or HD XBL/PSN versions, the opening and ending movies would be clearer.

Yeah. It's not really that mixed at this point, isn't it?
I could still make more videos for this game, but I'm done with the standard playthrough, now. Thanks for watching!
