Sonic Chaos - (Sega Master System) - 1/1
It's probably fair to say out of the 3 Master System Sonics I've played so far, that this is probably the easiest and looks the least polished. At the same time, it's probably my favourite. I didn't notice much difference between this and the Game Gear version, only the Mecha Hills boss was different.
The Emeralds are a bit more of a pain to get. They can be obtained on any level where you can collect 100 rings. Collecting 100 rings transports you to the bonus stage, which I kind of like the idea of them all being very different as opposed to most sonic games where it's just harder variations of a certain type. That said, they're very simple on the whole.
The first stage grab the Rocket Sneakers and stay in the middle of the screen, you'll see the Emerald in the middle of a circle of big rings. If you're wondering what the random words spelt out are, they're the game developers.
The second Emerald involves jumping from small platforms and at the end using a spring to bounce up and to the right (kind of reminds me of Rayman's bonus stages).
The third is ridiculously easy, and shows a complete lack of creativity with how repetitive it is. They could've made it a bit harder by needing to know a few directions to go. The first few tubes are identical and you don't need to push a button. When you see a different one hold up and you'll end up with the third Emerald.
The fourth can be tricky, as you see I ended up with 1 second left. It's hard to describe but you'll be using the Rocket Shoes and heading left towards the end of it's life to get the next pair. There's a quicker way which involves breaking up some dirt but I flew over it.
The fifth is another tube level. They made it look harder than the third at least. Hold down, jump over spring, Get Emerald.
6th Emerald? Well if you looked at the intro you'd see Robotnik has it. Beat him in Electric Egg Zone with the other 5 and you'll get it, along with the good ending.
