Sonic Colors Ultimate releases a new trailer showing graphical and playable improvements
We already knew that Sega was going to release Sonic Colors Ultimate, a remastered version of the 2010 platformer. Now, Sega has released a new trailer for the upcoming update, offering fans a sneak peek of what they can expect in terms of graphical improvements, general changes, and new features that weren't in the original version.
Sonic Colors Ultimate will run at a resolution of 4K and at 60 fps. The remaster will also introduce a new mode called Rival Rush,in which players will compete in a race against Metal Sonic, traversing levels to unlock some of the game's rewards.
The remaster will also offer the option to make some visual customizations such as changing the patterns of Sonic's shoes and gloves; the in-game tokens we earn will allow us to buy cosmetics. So if you've ever dreamed of changing the color of Sonic's iconic sneakers, this game will give us the freedom to do so. In addition, we can customize the controls, that is always a plus.
Gameplay Improvements: More Powers and Objects
Another addition that stands out from the remaster is a new Wisp: Jade Ghostpower, which will allow Sonic to fly through the levels and traverse solid objects while exploring areas we couldn't reach otherwise. This will give great replayability to the game.
Sonic Colors Ultimate will also introduce the Tails Save, an object that we can use to get to safety in case we find ourselves in trouble. There's also a new incentive to find 100 rings: They'll grant you invincibility temporarily and give you a boost after each level.
The release of Sonic Colors Ultimate is one of sega's many ways to celebrate Sonic's 30th anniversary. Sega is also scheduled for an animated series, Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps and a new Sonic Team game for next year.
Sonic Colors Ultimate will be released on September 7th for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One.
