I was recently playing around with the RFL files of each stage in Sonic Frontiers, and I noticed that a lot of the effects were controlled in these files. For curiosity, I decided to disable all the special effects from the cyber space stages in Sonic Frontiers, and I ended up really liking the end result, which has a more cleaned up presentation. However, the effects give the stages their own visual identity, so I'd still prefer playing with them enabled.

Here's me playing through 3 different stages with the effects disabled, so you can see what it's like. It may not be very noticeable on YouTube, but it's really clean when you're playing it yourself.
