Sonic Robo Blast 2 was developed by Sonic Team Junior and published by a 28K Dialup modem. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Dr. Robotnik/Eggman is copyrighted by Sega.

NOTE: This version is 2.1.25, I would not recommend playing this version and focus on the latest (2.2.8). This version of SRB2 was released back in August 2019.

This video is gonna cover two zones! Arid Canyon and Red Volcano Zones. In this version, both of these zones were only one act long and I feel it's best to cover them both, given the length of both of their first acts.

Arid Canyon was a zone that was trying to gain a sense of identity. Sure, it still took place in a desert-like canyon, but I feel that the zone in this version doesn't really stand out as well as it did in the latest version. The only thing that was maintained were the oil slicks and those pulleys. The TNT barrels, cacti actually being threatening and other factors really added to the overall appeal that zone.

Red Volcano feels quite similar to its future counterpart. The overall level design was definitely improved, but comparing to 2.1, the design choices were certainly maintained and just refined or added upon. Overall, it is probably one of the most established zones in terms of progression and flow and it's nice to see that they just built upon that. Now if they can tweak that one outdoor section with that derpy Whirlwind Shield jump in V2.3, then I'll have less problems with it overall!
