Go For It Goemon: The Rescue of Princess Yuki was a translation done by DDSTranslations, you can find the translation path available here on ROMHacking.net: https://www.romhacking.net/translations/5667/

Legend of the Mystical Ninja was developed and published by Konami and released on the Super Nintendo. Ganbare Goemon - Yuki hime Kyuushuutsu emaki was released on the Super Famicom. Fictitious characters and locations are copyrighted and owned by their respective characters.

This game series has a very interesting history with me. The first time I played it was at a friend's house and I was stuck knowing these characters as Kid Ying and Dr. Yang. Little did I know that this series was far more prevalent, yet incredibly hidden from audiences outside of Japan. I feel that Goemon is honestly one of Konami's darlings and it is sadly the casualty of a studio that has lost its way incredibly. Thankfully, we have individuals taking the time and energy to translate these games and make it more widely available outside of Japan.

Goemon is a pretty zany game series, riddled with humorous, goofy and sometimes bizarre moments and humor. While some of the humor may not have aged well, it is clear that Konami certainly had something special going here. The gameplay is a fine example of some ingenuity at work. Introducing some 2D platforming with some town explorations, learning about the lore, dangers and elements of each area you visit. While it is not clear if all the things showcased in this game are really what they are, it does provide a good look of Goemon's crazy and wild world. While the most recognizable elements have not been introduced yet, this is the foundation of a series that has seen a surprisingly large number of games, more of them being good than bad. Of course, we never really had much knowledge about these games until the internet really made light to it all.

It's only just recently that the SNES games have been translated and I'd like to start the adventure from the beginning and I wanted to start it in a way where Goemon and Ebisumaru would be the ones to guide us into their strange and mystical world. It'll definitely be quite the trip and we're gonna have a good number of games to cover, but it'll be worth it! Maybe Konami might pay attention and realize that they have a winner on their hands and maybe do some work and realize another solid collection. Who knows?

But all I'm gonna say right now is: Go For It Goemon!

Hope you enjoy the video!
