It's been a while since I played this so long ago so expect me play this at a turtle's pace collecting rings for lives. This version can get unfairly HARD due to screen crunch of the Game Gear (GG) version.

Still wonder why Sonic Origins devs chose the GG versions over the Master System (MS) version though with this version it at least has certain BGMs (background music) that I prefer over the MS version (Example the Boss BGM. I love the GG version). I should mentioned I never played the MS versions.

The first boss is unfair due to the screen crunch. I died so many times as a kid long ago that I can never forget how this fight goes. Ugh!

I know where the Chaos Emeralds is but I TRIED to follow a guide for Sky High Zone Act 2's emerald location since I know the way I did it as a kid can get frustrating to do with the Hang Glider. Turns out I can't do it the way that video guie showed it. The screen crunch makes that nearly impossible so I gave up and went the Hang Glider method.

By the way if you decide to do the Hang Glider method, know that by pressing backward in small bursts will balance your path. Forward will make you go down. When it comes to the wind forcing you to go up, forward can bring you down the first press while the second one will make you go up. This can adjust your path during the wind.

During the boss of Aqua Lake Zone, that was the first time I saw that he can actually hit himself on the first cycle. That surprised me and I giggled at that.

Scrambled Egg Zone (SEZ) is an unfair annoying zone with "tube maze" paths that can kill you if you take the wrong path which is stupid in my book. What were they thinking making this?

The game ends at SEZ and gives you a sad ending if you don't get all the Chaos Emeralds. I got that ending a few times and I don't want to see it ever again. Past kid me LOVED Miles so to see that ending implying that he died broke me. I was COMPELLED to get the Chaos Emeralds after seeing that despite the game being unfair.

Crystal Egg Zone (CEZ) appears when you get all the Chaos Emeralds. This zone is nowhere near hard compared to SEZ which is odd since this is the true last zone. The boss here is a different story but it's doable IF you are patient.

I'm actually surprised I didn't need to load up any of my save progress since it's been a while since I played this game but I guess my past experiences still helps out. Thank goodness! Did I mention I love some of the BGMs in this game? It's typical since Sonic games usually have such good music. They do music right at least (LOL)!
