Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has been released in many more systems of Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft. However, they actually are emulated Genesis versions and has been excluded from this comparison, as Genesis version is already present.
Nintendo DS version is based on emulation, but we've included it because there are some changes, mainly because of the bottom screen interface implemented.
As a bonus, we've included some prerrelease versions of the original Genesis game such as Nick Arcade and Simon Wai prototypes/betas. In addition, there is Knuckles in Sonic 2, a game made of the combination of Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 2 cartridges. Finally, although we don't usually show unofficial versions in our comparisons, we've added the Sonic 2 HD fan project, in development by Team S2HD because of its fidelity with the original game.
