Once again, there's not really much to say about the battle with Mephiles really. He has giant shadow demons now, but they fall all the same to the repetitive combat Homing Attack. Shadow's friends are useless in this fight as they're glorified accessories more than anything else.

Mephiles tries to trick you with clones once you enter Kaio-Ken mode to dispel the darkness somehow, but the camera always focuses on the real one in these cases. For a final boss, this is not a very good one, even Black Doom and Infinite put up a better fight than this loser.

As a character I can sorta see why some people like Mephiles, he can take a ton of gunfire and laugh it off, he's the easy to hate manipulator, even trying to convince Shadow to turn to the dark side and he can go to any period of time he wants, the only thing that could really stop him was a scepter and even then he busts out of it immediately the second time he's sealed, and he's kinda creepy to boot in some cutscenes. But I don't like Mephiles because he comes off like an idiot, you're telling me he has time travel powers but he doesn't think to just go back in time to when Iblis gets out of Elise and merge with him? Or if it fits his character; just torture Elise until she cries (the fact she didn't cry when her father died is completely nonsensical) or he could literally just merge with Iblis in the future and there's nothing stopping him from doing any of these things because he can use time travel powers, I'd say more but I'd be here all day.
