Vs. Egg Dragoon
The final Temple of Gaia is located underneath Eggmanland, and Sonic and Chip have made their way there. Having restored the last Chaos Emerald, Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik catches them on their way out and ambushes them with the Egg Dragoon. If you've seen the opening cutscene for this game, this might look familiar: It's the very same machine Eggman used to catch Sonic; Sonic subsequently turned Super and smashed the machine's arms. Well, Eggman has spent some of that time repairing the machine and upgraded its weaponry. Capable of fire, lightning and ice attacks, it's called the Egg Black Mage...or rather, the Egg Dragoon, I guess.
Sonic can't waste his energy on becoming Super Sonic against the likes of Dr. Eggman. He needs to save it for Dark Gaia. And, of course, Sonic is perfectly capable of taking on the Egg Dragoon without the need to become Super Sonic.
As the Werehog with his stretchy arms, Sonic comes up with some pretty creative ways to put the hurt on Eggman and the Egg Dragoon. It's the very first time I've seen one of his boss robots defeated by someone lifting that hovercraft from its spot. Knuckles ought to give this a shot.
