We got some hands-on time with the Sony Ericsson Xperia play, which is the first PlayStation certified Smartphone. Couple of things to note with the device; first off, the device is that is is Spotting stock Gingerbread and not Sony's Timescape U.I that was originally on the Xepria Play at MWC 2011. The Xperia Play at CTIA 2011 hand the Verizon logo branding on it.
The Xperia Play sport the new 2nd Gen 1Ghz Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon with an Adriano GPU., Does have a full slide out gaming pad with a d-pad, two analog discs ( that simulate your analog sticks), and your tradition PlayStation buttons and shoulder keys.
Enough of the talk, you are wondering how well doe sit play, well to tell you the true, it play very very well. I had no slow down or frame rate drops from the games I Played, Bruce Lee games, Crash bandicoot, Madden 2011 and Asphalt 6. The controls felt comfortable and very familiar to the PlayStation experience and the analog disc handled well to be a suitable replacement on a phone for the traditional analog sticks.
You are only limited to Playing PlayStation games but also games off the Android Market place. So far the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play looks to be shaping up well and I can't wait to sit down and spent some quality time with this game phone.
