Sour Gas Or Bust! Part 6: You Know What Time It Is (ONI: Spaced Out!)
11This VOD is the 6th part of my long-term Sour Gas Boiling playthrough for Oxygen Not Included! In this video, we start to set up a big SPOM complex where we can generate Oxygen in a self-powered manner. While each of the little modules can be built independently and gradually over time, I just felt like building them all in one big go so I don't forget to later and re-allocate the asteroid space for something else. Using submerged Electrolysers lets us separate the Oxygen and Hydrogen easily without storage issues, and we can get significant excess power by Microchip tuning the Hydrogen Generators. This should be enough to run a lot of our base industry and gradually wean us off Coal if done correctly. Eventually we can just plug our excess Sour Gas Boiler Water into this. It also turns out setting up Water Coolers and Space Heaters is now very important if trying to build large projects in varied climates without Atmo Suits. Next stage will be finishing off the cooling with the nearby Anti-Entropy-Thermo-Nullifier and setting up some initial Transformer spine so that we can efficiently harvest the excess power... The aim of this run is for me to execute my plans from my Water recycling videos ( • How To Recycle Water Forever in Oxyge... and • How To Recycle Water EVEN HARDER in O... ) and build a completely sustainable and well-organised colony with zero inputs. But first this means I'll need to explore our asteroid, set up a normal base first, and get some industry going. This is going to be a longer-than-usual run, and I'm hoping to explore the rest of the Spaced Out content that I never got around to here too. We may occasionally interrupt it with short challenges.
