South of Midnight is a Story Driven, Platforming, Action Game.
( But it does Not Know What it Wants to Be ).
The Story and World seems Interesting Enough.
The Platforming Works Ok, Might Become Tedious Over Time.
The Combat Feels Like the Weakest Part aka Feels Tacked On.
The Visuals and Art Style is Not for Everyone, i Don't Mind it.
Audio is Good when its Not being Buggy / Glitchy.
( Had to Tweak Settings and Reboot Game a Few Times to Fix Audio ).
Im Not Far Enough in to give a Full / Proper Review especially when it comes to the Story.
I Hope a lot More happens with the Story and has More Depth to it, Because at the Moment i think its Lacking so Far.
Upgrades / Skills ect are Very Limited and Lacking.
Level Design Looks Nice BUT is very Linear almost on Rails.
What i did Not Like was the Ability to Change so much in the Games Difficulty and Mechanics, To the Point you can make yourself Invincible OR Skip Combat Segments ect.
I Think South of Midnight Kinda Plays it Safe, As if it was Afraid to Experiment More OR go the Extra Mile.
If You Want a Basic Story Action Platformer to Pass the Time inbetween Games then this is Fine.
( Recommend You Wait for a Sale OR Get on Game Pass ).
An Average Game with Average Gameplay ( But its Actually Alright ) - Kinda Reminds me of Older Games back in the PS3, Xbox360 Days if you know what i mean.
Keep in Mind This is a New Game Company and this is there First Game, So if this is what they can Produce as a First Attempt then i Look Forward to Future Projects and what they Can Bring to the Table.
