Space Oddity Expert Vocals FC USING OCARINA OF TIME 3D - Rock Band 3
I got a 3DS yesterday, and I was busy messing around with OoT's Ocarina. I then concocted the idea of putting it to good use in an entirely different game.
The setup I used for this wasn't necessarily all that complicated. The biggest hassle was that I had to hook up my 3DS to my iPod dock, not only because it makes the noise much louder (which is essential for the mic's registration), but also because having the mic stuck up to the 3DS's speakers would be unintuitive and simply asinine. To stabilize my mic's position, I used one of my Rock Band drum pedals (specifically, my Nyko Metal Pedal) as a mic holder.
As for the actual performance, it could have been better. There were some areas where I made some minor mistakes pitch-wise (most notably at the beginning of Chorus 2 where I was pressing the wrong buttons for a brief moment), but thankfully none were major enough to break the streak. You may also notice that I don't hold the buttons during long pitches; this is because the sounds generated by the ocarina fade away fairly quickly, forcing me to reset the sound every two seconds or so to ensure that the pitches in-game are registered. Despite this I'm glad that I succeeded in using Ocarina of Time as an alternate means to play this.
