SpaceX Starship Orbital Launch Site Upgrades - May 12, 2023
217May 12, 2023 - Starbase, Texas USA: Orbital Launch Mount (OLM) cleanup continues while concrete pilings begin to be poured beneath the OLM. The Water Deluge piping is being installed and earth movers continue to dig beneath the OLM legs in preparation for the water-cooled steel sandwich (as Elon Musk refers to the water cooling mechanism being custom designed for the Starbase launch site).
High voltage transmission power lines are being buried in between the AstroPub restaurant and the Launch Site along the North side of Highway 4 / Boca Chica Highway.
More modular homes are going up very rapidly to incentivize employees to live on Base. Tiny Homes, Modular Duplexes, Airstream Trailers, Modified Shipping Containers, Renovated Boca Chica Village Homes, as well as SpaceX FAMILY HOMES are all options to choose from.
SpaceX offers housing at an affordable price for employees. Some of the lodgings also include weekly laundry service and housekeeping service, and the homes along Weems in the original Boca Chica Village come with the usage of a Tesla vehicle to drive for the duration of the employee's stay.
