Famous Spanish actress Penelope Cruz was awarded the Spanish National Cinematography Award at the 70th San Sebastian Film Festival.
Oscar-winning Spanish actress Penelope Cruz was honored at the San Sebastian Film Festival, Spain's most internationally recognized cinema event. Cruz won the National Cinematography Award at the festival. The 48-year-old actress, who was emotional and filled with tears during the ceremony, said, "It is a great honor for me to have this award."
The actress, who said, “Cinema has been my biggest passion since my childhood,” was applauded by the festival participants.
BIGGEST LESSON HE LEARNED
Preparing a 6-minute speech, Cruz shared that the biggest lesson he learned in his 30-year career was the experiences he gained. The actor said, “Cavafis has a great poem. If you're going to Ithaca, try to lengthen the way because what matters is not getting there, but the adventures you experience along the way,” she said.

One of Spain's most famous actors, Cruz made her Hollywood debut in 1998 with her first English-language film, Talk of Angels. The actress won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2008 for Woody Allen's Vicky, Christina, Barcelona.
