New feature to Google Maps: The route that consumes the least fuel
Google Maps has presented a new application to its users. The new feature, which creates different routes according to the engine type, aims to save by focusing on fuel and energy efficiency.
Google Maps will now be able to direct its users to the route that consumes the least fuel.
The application can now create routes that consume the least fuel for 'Gasoline', 'Diesel', 'Electric' and 'Hybrid' vehicles. Google creates the most fuel-efficient route according to engine type and road condition, for users who choose the one suitable for their vehicle from these options.
To use the new feature that Google has put into use in Turkey, you need to follow these steps:
In the Google Maps application;
1- Open the Google Maps application on your mobile device.
2- Tap on the navigation settings.
3- Go to route options.
Tap Prefer fuel-efficient routes to enable or disable eco-friendly routing.

After getting directions;
1- Open the Google Maps application on your mobile device.
2- Search for your destination or tap on it on the map.
3- At the bottom left, tap Directions.
4- Swipe up on the bottom bar.
5- Tap Change engine type. Then select the engine type.
6- Tap Done.
Choose the option you use most:
If you are driving a vehicle with an internal combustion engine, choose "gasoline" or "diesel".
If you are driving a hybrid vehicle or a vehicle with a hybrid plug-in that uses mostly fuel, select "hybrid".
If you are driving an electric or mostly electric plug-in hybrid vehicle, select "electric".
