Speed Limit is an extremely difficult retro arcade game. You are running from the authorities in a high speed chase sequence that starts on a train and gets more and more obscene as time progresses and culminates in you taking down a stealth bomber in a fighter jet.
The game has a different feel for each chase sequence. For example, the train sequence feels like a side scrolling action game. Then it switches to a top down driving sequence in a car. Then it switches to a 3D motorcycle racing sim. And so forth.
Each section not only looks different but plays differently as well. Thankfully the controls are kept simple during the hectic chase sequences. You have the standard movement with W,A,S,D, firing your weapon with space bar, and a secondary action (that differs depending on the scene) on the CTRL key.
Overall, Speed Limit is a very stressful but enjoyable action game that is reminiscent of older arcade titles. The simple 2D graphics look great and keep the focus on the high octane action. It is very challenging, with easy mode being not so easy. The game did take me around 90 minutes to beat the first time through on easy and around 30 minutes the second time through. That is honestly the perfect length for this game because I don't think I could handle the stress of playing the game if it was longer. It's times like this I feel my age catching up to me.
