Babby's first attempt to go fast in the W O O D S.

The very first time I tried to play this game, I joined in a race of this category with people who actually knew how to play the game. I had seen several other people play it and speedrun it before, but I had never played it myself. Two hours in, I don't think I had beaten the third stage of Hard mode and called it quits. I vowed one day to get my revenge on this game and learn to play it properly. Your Twitch subscriptions gave me incentive to make that possible.

For perspective on this run, I had only beaten the game proper for the first time about 10 minutes prior. I tend to get messed up when I have to frequently press the D-pad and more than one face button. There's one to pick up one part of a stack and another to pick up the entire stack. Deciding which button to press at any given point is somehow beyond my muscle memory at this point.

This category only beats Hard mode because Easy and Normal simply add more stages without changing the difficulty of the foes. You would think by now that someone would have done an Easy mode run since it's "All Stages," but only Hard mode is a thing on the leaderboard:
