Spending all the resources that we gathered the last few episodes seems like a good idea. We get a new aircraft and some bases upgrades with it. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwvqFbsjWcxvAfH0ZyoXif62VbtfF9UEK

Hello all and welcome to my let’s play of Phoenix Point! The Steam year 1 edition of the game came out and im playing through the game again. Hopefully we can complete the game this time over!

Aside from the bases upgrades and new craft we also get ourselves a Scarab for said plane. I am reworking one of the squads to make it fit (because vehicles take up 3 slots) but the upcoming DLC and a thread I read on the forums about vehicles at least convinced me enough to give it a shot. That said I dont feel 3 soldiers and a vehicle makes for a good squad so the aircraft that im building is a Tiamat. I has space for 8 squad members so I making that 5 soldiers and a Scarab.

The squad im reworking is the last one that I put in active service, the ones with golden colouring. They also have mayor problems in dealing with armor so I feel the extra shredding from the missles should be a big help to them. That said, the Tiamat is very slow, so this squad wont be used to stop incoming attacks on Havens; theyre just to slow to respond to those kinds of missions.

Squad building aside, we destroy 2 Pandoran bases today with our squad in the Southern Americas. The nest destructin goes off without a hitch, the Lair puts up alot more of a fight though. I almost lose a soldier like 3 times during this mission and its in part because I make the age old mistake of splitting up my squad. I make it for the most horrible of reasons as well, there was some loot in the map that I wanted to grab. Which also turned out to be next to useless to me; yet more mutagens. Well played Phoenix point! Well played.

The 3rd Pandoran base is nest as well and our newest active squad gets to do that one. I also split up my squad in this one (much to my chagrin while editing this episode…) and because of it I also almost lose a soldier here. In both cases where my soldiers get heavily wounded my Technicians prove their worth though by keeping everyone alive! Their laser PDW is also a very good weapon as im happily finding out.

The priests Frenzy ability is also incredibly good im finding and it alone is good enough reason to take a Priest in my opinion. Everything they add to the squad aside from that is just a nice bonus :)

That said, this squad isent really benefiting from the Infiltrator that they got with them so il be rotating him out once their Tiamat is done. Then once the Scarab is done as well they will be a full squad again. The infiltrator will go to the next squad that I was working on who I am going to assign a Thunderbird to fly around in. Maybe abit late, but lets experiemnt with different squad compositions!

Phoenix Point is a strategy video game featuring a turn-based tactics system that is developed by Bulgaria-based independent developer Snapshot Games. It was released on December 3, 2019 for macOS and Microsoft Windows, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 ports are set to released in 2020[1] and for Google Stadia in 2021.[2] Phoenix Point is intended to be a spiritual successor to the X-COM series that had been originally created by Snapshot Games head Julian Gollop during the 1990s.
Phoenix Point is set in 2047 on an Earth in the midst of an alien invasion, with Lovecraftian horrors on the verge of wiping out humanity. Players start the game in command of a lone base, Phoenix Point, and face a mix of strategic and tactical challenges as they try to save themselves and the rest of humankind from annihilation by the alien threat.
Between battles, the aliens adapt through accelerated, evolutionary mutations to the tactics and technology which players use against them. Meanwhile, multiple factions of humans will pursue their own objectives as they compete with players for limited resources in the apocalyptic world. How players resolve these challenges can result in different endings to the game.
