We destroy a Pandoran lair and raid a scavenging site today. And run into the recurring theme of having our soldiers mind controlled by Sirens! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwvqFbsjWcxvAfH0ZyoXif62VbtfF9UEK

Hello all and welcome to my let’s play of Phoenix Point! The Steam year 1 edition of the game came out and im playing through the game again. Hopefully we can complete the game this time over!

I dont know what was up when I recorded these 2 missions but in both missions I had numerous cases where Sirens mind controlled my troops. In 1 case I almost had a Heacy with a Hel II on the opposing side when I could cripple the Siren’s head with a well aimed shotgun blast. In another case I had 2 troops mind controlled at the same time as I had spread my troops out to much and could not cripple the Siren in question in time. Luckily for me, the AI dident use the mind controlled trooper to shoot any Phoenix point troopers but opted to use my med kit instead instead. While a nuisance, its always better then having a dead soldier!

The scavenging site was covered in the mist and was a ‘rich site’ meaning that we manage to drag ALOT of resources away from this 1 mission. The mission to destroy the lair was also filled with loot for some reason. That said, the missions take up the vast majority of today’s episode. Alot of action but not alot of geoscape progess. Although we do manage to get some more research revealed by running into an acid worm.

I am getting very fond of the armour piercing Piranha AR51’s I must admit. They are quikly starting to show their merit and im very thankfull I made the investment! Next episode I intend to gather resources to get my 5th aircraft operational.

Phoenix Point is a strategy video game featuring a turn-based tactics system that is developed by Bulgaria-based independent developer Snapshot Games. It was released on December 3, 2019 for macOS and Microsoft Windows, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 ports are set to released in 2020[1] and for Google Stadia in 2021.[2] Phoenix Point is intended to be a spiritual successor to the X-COM series that had been originally created by Snapshot Games head Julian Gollop during the 1990s.
Phoenix Point is set in 2047 on an Earth in the midst of an alien invasion, with Lovecraftian horrors on the verge of wiping out humanity. Players start the game in command of a lone base, Phoenix Point, and face a mix of strategic and tactical challenges as they try to save themselves and the rest of humankind from annihilation by the alien threat.
Between battles, the aliens adapt through accelerated, evolutionary mutations to the tactics and technology which players use against them. Meanwhile, multiple factions of humans will pursue their own objectives as they compete with players for limited resources in the apocalyptic world. How players resolve these challenges can result in different endings to the game.
