Spiral Knights Tutorial Episode 31 Shadow Lair Gloaming Wildwood
Believe it or not, in less than 12 days of gametime, i actually going to show how to complete the 1st shadow lair on solo and on elite using the set up i have so far.
I not going to bother heating up my gear because of that annoying forging system and radiant fire crystal is so rare.
For those who have extra weapon. They should bring also Divine Avenger and Shivermist. Shivermist can freeze the monster in its place and you can stick them with your divine avenger.
For those who have trinket slot activate, i recommended one heart trinklet and another trinklet that raise your sword attack speed.
For those who using battle sprite, i recommend Maskerith because of its shadow cloak. If you get into tight spot, you can use the shadow cloak to evade damage and allow you to ambush the enemy.
First two depths isn't too bad but the third depth would be extremely hard.
Monsters are much stronger and durable than even Depth 28 monsters. Silkwing always heal monster for 63HP per tick nearby regardless of difficulty.
The boss you face is a buff up Snarbolax known as Rabid Snarbolax and there are 2 of them.
Rabid Snarbolax boss fight is extremely tough, the toughest of the 4 bosses. It is accompanied by silkwing that respawn and Swarm Source.
Swarm Source slow you down and enhance all enemy (your droid is buffed up and isn't slowed down) of its defensive power. Swarm Source can't be destroyed. Instead it grow smaller by attacking it but will expand again.
Rabid Snarbolax can be killed the same way as you did to Snarbolax. You need to hit the bell like before to stun the Snarbolax and then attack it. However this is a lot harder and the bell sometime doesn't work.
4 deaths (1 emergency revive and 3 spark of life) in this shadow lair all coming from the boss.
After you complete the boss, you face with another depth known as Unknown Passage. At unknown passage, you can change the equipment. Unknown passage isn't that difficulty by my standard even on elite difficulty.
In Unknown Passage, you face a new type of monster known as Void monster. They don't drop anything except hearts.
