DeviceVM, is behind the popular Splashtop instant-on OS and is moving forward with MeeGo through by offering OEMs a MeeGo-powered Splashtop.

The move to MeeGo will allow the Splashtop instant-on environment has typically only been able to offer a few applications, now users will be able to install any app from Intel's AppUp store. So rather than being just a simple instant-on environment with Web, e-mail, and Skype, and a perhaps a photo manager (depending on what version of Splashtop your computer comes with), the new MeeGo Splashtop will be a fully functional netbook OS.

In addition to the standard suite of MeeGo apps and the AppUp store, DeviceVM told us it will preload a MeeGo version of its Splashtop Remote remote access software on the new OS.

We look forward to seeing the MeeGo version of Splashtop on a shipping product sometime in early 2011, but we were able to get a quick demo of it installed on a Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t here at IDF.
