Over the weekend of March 24, 2017, Nintendo has made a demo of Splatoon 2 public for six different hours. I took the opportunity to try out the upcoming game myself! In Turf War, the team with the most ink on the ground at the end of the match wins!

My first match starts at 4:05 in this video. I usually don’t play with motion controls, so I stunk the first few matches until I realized the demo lets you switch to stick controls. In the one match where I’m using a Charger, I stop moving for a while because I got an unexpected phone call in real life... oopsie doops! Anyway, I mostly stuck with the Dualies since they’re brand new, though the special isn’t as useful as I imagined it being. People can shoot you midair relatively easily, and they can camp out at the point where you’re sent after time on it runs out. I hope, in the final version of the game, only your team mates can see that spot.

Other than that, I really enjoyed myself, even if the new controls will take some getting used to. I know what I’ll be playing this summer.
