There's an obvious place to plant yourself with a Splatling for Splat Zones on Sturgeon Shipyard, so prepare for a distinct lack of changing scenery. I also remember to wear some Thermal Ink gear, after forgetting it in the first battle. I also apparently forget that you can destroy Torpedoes, but never mind, nothing bad comes of it, only the Kensa Splattershot Jr infiltrating our base. I ignore them and join peas down the flank, where I get some revenge on the bucket and help try to capture the Splat Zones. It doesn't go too well, but at least the Hamster Ball only nudges me a bit.

I try out the Inkjet, something I still haven't practiced with nearly enough, and am grateful to get one splat, that of an almost-stationary target, as a friendly B-bomb flies in to capture the Splat Zones, getting our score going. I even remember my Toxic Mist, which is nice, and a good time to throw one, as I recover the ink as I retreat to my perch. I keep watch over the Splat Zones for a bit, trying to get back in to a rhythm with the Ballpoint Splatling's charge times, and happily splatting the super-jumping Tri-slosher as they try to get clear.

I have to retreat as a Hamster Ball comes for me, which doesn't end up with my getting splatted, but instead I splat the pursuer, and a bonus super-jumper being a bit cheeky. The Splat Zones stay green, which is nice, and we are well in to a good lead now. Repositioning finds new targets, but it also stops me seeing the other side of the Splat Zones as I try to splat the charger. They're turning pink, ink being bucketed all over the place. It catches me too, after the Splat Zones turn pink, so close to our winning the battle.

The Splat Zones turn green again soon enough, but we almost have to work through an entire battle's worth of points again, which is some task. I tidy up a bit, move back to the perch, and try to pounce on a pinkling on our flank. It doesn't work when they jump in to a Hamster Ball, but they leave a super-jumper ring behind for me, which is nice, and another one appears in the Splat Zones whilst I am in my Inkjet. That I miss them is an embarrassment, moreso because the bucket splats me instead, but also a reminder that the Inkjet has a decent range. Worth remembering, that.

The pinklings are pushing forwards aggressively, barely giving us a foothold in to the Splat Zones. We have time to play with, but I still force the issue, aiming to ink the Splat Zones when I could be rebuilding our foundation. Worse still, I launch an Inkjet in the heart of the Splat Zones, where it would only be safe if I splat the rest of the pinklings. I get one, and that's simply not enough. My landing is beyond perilous.

Now the pink score is threatening our lead, and as our score is close to zero, threatening to win by knockout. Thankfully, we are all on the same page, and we throw ink in to the Splat Zones as a matter of urgency, turning them green and imposing a buffer on the pinklings. Now we can relax a bit more. I fall off my ledge trying to extend my range to the left-side of the Splat Zones, but I use that to my advantage, getting closer to the Splat Charger, and using both sides of the cover too. The bucket comes for me instead, and they don't stop. I should have realised they wouldn't.

I tidy up after the pesky Tri-slosher before heading up to my perch, where I get a splat and tag the rest of the pinklings with Thermal Ink. We head in to extra time, but have a good enough lead so as not to panic. The Splat Charger comes for me, but I nudge them in to a pit with some ink, before launching a final Inkjet. I get a splat, ink the Splat Zones a bit, and am inksploded out of the sky a final time. But it's a decent trade, ink coming for me and not the Splat Zones, letting my squidmates capture them and secure our victory. Woomy!
