By the time I put this up, the first October Splatfest will have come and gone in North America, the Cars vs. Planes one. I'll put up videos from that later, but I've got some catching up to do regarding videos depicting young people emitting large amounts of their bodily fluids onto each other.

This one might be kind of hard to watch at times, but here goes.

Match #1
Blackbelly Skatepark
Tower Control
Classic Squiffer
Color Scheme: Sweden
After about three accidental sessions of the New Squiffer (which accidentally turned it into the weapon with the 8th most inked turf, according to SplatNet), confusing it for the Classic Squiffer, here it is, finally. The New Squiffer didn't really have any improvements over the Classic, so you can play them about the same, the difference being sub-weapons and special weapons. The Classic Squiffer has what I think is the rarest sub-weapon: The Point Sensor, a hidden non-damaging proximity mine that then reveals the location of any opponent who steps within its range. It's probably better in the hands of someone more skilled than I, and I never really used it in this match. I take it you're supposed to memorize where you put it so that when you're notified someone's stepped on it, you can figure out its rough location immediately. The Classic Squiffer's special weapon is the Bubbler, which is bested used on a Charger with no bombs as a means of retreating. Since this is a charger, I shouldn't really be taking on the role of riding the tower as much as I did, but I really had no choice if some of my teammates weren't going to either. That Japanese player certainly helped out (and was a great help), and so did Jai when the situation turned desperate, but loulou...man, this was the worst sniper I've ever seen in this game. They were never anywhere within range of my opponents, always halfway across the map. The Splatterscope may have a great range, but it can't shoot at the tower from in front of the spawn point! Without the map on the GamePad, you'll find loulou predominantly by the goal closer to our spawn point (though loulou did go to other locations too). This essentially makes it a 3-on-4 when we have the tower.

Match #2
Arowana Mall
Splat Zones
L-3 Nozzlenose
Color Scheme: Lakers
I haven't covered the Nozzlenoses since the Art vs. Science Splatfest, so I should provide a refresher: The Nozzlenoses are a strange type of shooter in that they cover ink like an automatic but control like a blaster. That is, you press the trigger button, and it'll shoot some amount of ink. When it's done, you press the button agai and it shoots some more. The L-3 Nozzlenose is differentiated from the H-3 Nozzlenose in that it fires less ink per shot but loads faster. It has the Disruptor, another sub-weapon I don't understand well enough to use, and the Killer Wail, which is something I DO know how to use. The Nozzlenoses overall, to make up for their unintuitive use, have large ink tanks. I seemed to be the one most aggressive on my team by far about retaking the Splat Zone: Every time we reclaim it, I'm in it or next to it. I appreciate Ariana's success in splatting opponents and mmd helping to reclaim the Splat Zone too, but...イツキ* (Itsuki*) got disconnected early on, which meant we were vulnerable to the entire team getting splatted. I probably should've planted some Disruptors in the Splat Zone.

Match #3
Hammerhead Bridge
Splat Zones
L-3 Nozzlenose
Color Scheme: Koi Pond
I got 10 Splats in this match, the highest I think I've ever had, and I wasn't even at the top of my team. And yet, things were still a lot harder than it would sound. I didn't really see much of tarantula except when he has an Inkzooka, so maybe that's what was up with this one. We did have two Krak-On Splat Rollers, however. (But not a lot of Beakons for some reason.) But the Kraken can only re-ink a stolen Splat Zone by so much if there's no one present to splat.
