I'm a big fan of Namco as fans of my channel already know.
This is Splatterhouse 2 - sequel to the iconic horror game that burst onto the scene in the arcades & subsequent PC Engine (& Turbo Grafx-16) ports. It was exclusive to Sega's 16-bit powerhouse. As did the 3rd game -although that is more of a traditional scrolling brawler. Definitely not something Nintendo liked on their consoles at the time.
it is iconic in its own right - even if heavily "inspired" by some fairly blatant copyright appropriation. First time I've played it in a while - but it still has the power to catch you out & make you jump. Once you learn it though it is very playable.
I play the first few stages. Hopefully this gives you a bit of a feel for the game.
This is my original copy from back in the day played on my Sega CDX/MultiMega through a Retrotink 5X for ease of capture. It's the first time I've played it in years but it should give you a sense of the game.
As always if you enjoy this video let me know. As always this is running on original hardware. Also let me know if there are particular games or systems you'd like to see.
