I like doing fun little mock runs that reek of imperfection, so I decided to do one for a game that I really enjoy: Splatterhouse 3. It's definitely my favorite of the trilogy, even though it's so different from the other two.\n\nThe US version of this game is way easier than the Japanese version because the spin kick and gut launcher moves were greatly buffed. The spin kick in the Japanese version is a quick and weak knockdown attack, but in the US version, it's a lengthy and super powerful attack. You're also invincible during the entire animation!\n\nThe gut launcher consumed such a huge amount of power in the Japanese version that I honestly think it's useless until your meter is about to run out. The US version removes the power drain, so you can just pummel everything mercilessly.\n\nAnyway, this run was done on Game Master because the US version is pretty darn easy. This setting merely increases the number of enemies and I believe gives them more HP. Enemy damage remains the same, which in this game, usually means "if you get hit, you lose 50% or more of your health bar."\n\nIt's worth noting that if you complete Stage 1 with over 3:30 on the clock, Jennifer won't be infected with the boreworm. This sends you to a special Stage X and then after that you continue on to Stage 3. A real run would definitely do this, but I'm not fast enough on Game Master to make it happen. To put things into perspective a bit, note that you only get around 10 seconds of mistakes.\n\nIf this was on Normal mode instead, you definitely would've seen the Stage 2 skip. I was able to do it consistently in the past (along with a million Stage X bonuses for other levels), but Game Master is really the way to go. It gives a slight bonus after the credits, after all.
