Splitfictions are stories where one main story splits into different paths or versions — like a “what if” game.
Imagine you made one choice, and your friend made another — both lead to different adventures. That’s what splitfiction is: one story, many possible endings depending on what happens or what people choose.
Their Story Together
Mio and Zoe are both invited by a publisher (Rader Publishing) to test a machine that can turn a writer’s story into a lived simulation.
But something goes wrong: a “glitch” mixes up their story worlds. They end up trapped inside each other’s stories, where reality gets weird, and they have to deal with dangers from both fantasy and sci-fi worlds.
Along the way, they have to confront their traumas:
Mio has been bottling up her emotions, especially around her father’s illness.
Zoe has guilt over Ella’s death, and her sadness that she hasn’t been able to move on.
Ultimately, by working together, using each other’s strengths, switching between their story-worlds, and facing their inner fears, they try to find a way out of the glitch and escape the machine
Main Characters
Poyush as - Mio Hudson
A science‐fiction writer.
She’s quiet, strong-willed, tends to keep to herself. She’s been through hard times, especially because of her dad’s illness.
In her stories, she imagines futuristic worlds, high tech gadgets, space, cyberpunk stuff.
Me as -Zoe Foster
A fantasy writer.
Very outgoing, warm, optimistic. She loves magical worlds, dragons, forests, folklore.
Zoe has something sad she’s been holding onto — her twin sister Ella died when they were young, and she feels guilty about it. This shapes some of her fears and how she writes her stories.
