You’ll see that the mysterious spikes that popped up in Update 16 have grown even more since when you last saw them. These spikes have now sprouted into several kilometer-high spires, with other smaller spires sprouting around them. If you observe (from a safe distance!), you’ll see Thargoids retrieving resources and taking them away somewhere... But where exactly? 

 These Spires are also protected by patrols of Skimmers (including the Revenant), so if you do wish to investigate, proceed with extreme caution. One of these is a Skimmer you have not seen before, and you’ll be able to discover for yourself in Update 17
