Stack-Up Bingo Jazz Remix - Nintendo Guru Music Archive
Before Koji Kondo was hired to compose music for Nintendo games, they relied upon the talents of Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka. Strong jazz influences made their way into plenty of early NES songs, including this one. I made this a softer remix for piano and bass, with minimal drums. Again I fall victim to triplet eighths and the tempo sounds a little off because I didn't account for it by adjusting the pattern length to a number divisible by 3.
This song also convinced me that I'm hopeless at learning the piano, because I can play the left-hand part, and I can play the right-hand part, but when I try to play both at once, my brain short-circuits and I lose all coordination. Yet I can sit at a drum set and play independent rhythms on both hands and both feet. Different ways of thinking, I guess.
