14Government has imposed anti dumping duty on Stainless Steel Tubes & Pipes imported from China for a period of 5 years. This step is being taken to remove Injury to domestic Industry. China is the largest exporter of SS pipes and tubes to India and accounts for 54% of India’s total imports (FY21). China had earlier revoked export rebate which made imports costlier and now, anti dumping duty on Stainless Steel tubes and pipes has been imposed by India. Philip Capital believes this is a positive development for SS seamless pipe players. Considering the large number of grades and SKU's exact quantum of benefits is difficult ascertain at current junction. However Philip Capital believes this will definitely benefit the companies in the medium to longer run. They believe Ratnamani Metals and Venus pipes are expected to benefit the most followed by marginal gains for Jindal SAW and Welspun Corp.
