**Special Preview** Conventional pop-culture wisdom has told you that the original STAR WARS represented a return to normalcy and traditionalism in American filmmaking after the wild years of the 1970s - that it represented the revival of the studio system, a return to simple archetypes of good and evil and classical old-fashioned values on the page and behind the camera.

But conventional pop-culture wisdom is profoundly wrong about this, overlooking (if not deliberately burying!) the way Lucas' idiosyncratic vision and offbeat approach resulted in a film that was both aesthetically and thematically radical - a feature that constantly subverted audience expectations of what big crowd-pleasing mass-entertainment is meant to look and feel like, as revolutionary as an more explicitly-themed or deliberately abstract film of the same era.

Combining multiple audio sections from upcoming "REALLY THAT GOOD: STAR WARS" feature with exclusive expanded audio to form a new exclusive "bonus preview" essay focused on the unacknowledged hyper-originality of the first STAR WARS.

*NOTE: Lower-than-normal video quality in part due to unavailability of proper HD versions of the original non-Special Edition version of the film.

"REALLY THAT GOOD" is a new kind of film-criticism series, built around the radical premise that just because "everyone knows" a movie is a classic doesn't mean it stops being worth a deeper look. The upcoming installment "REALLY THAT GOOD: STAR WARS" will focus on George Lucas' original 1977 science fiction classic as a feature in and of itself, removed (within reason) from the subsequent pop-culture ubiquity of the "STAR WARS" megafranchise to explore why it made the impact it did upon its original release and answer modern criticisms as to whether or not the film's reputation is "unjustly" inflated by the legacy of the presence it generated.
