Star Wars Squadrons VR HOTAS Players first look - VR Gameplay Valve Index
12Feels like a poorly ported VR title with many day 1 launch issues. Apparently my keyboard doesn't have the "any" button since I wasn't able to proceed past the mash it. This is being reported by a vast number of players along with a number of other bugs ranging from FPS being locked at 30 to completely disabled controls and dead zone issues that render a HOTAS useless. This feels like EA wanted this pushed out before the devs were finished with it. *Shock*
Speaking of Exceptional Assholes... I absolutely do not like the forced account linking. The UI for the garbage forced account linking was a dumpster fire of god awful UI/UX. Tiny font with low contrast color schemes at a resolution no one could reasonably read. Just awful.
I see a lot of ED influence in the design of some things but not enough in other aspects. For example the curved menu UI and the hanger view. Other aspects however are lacking like the poor segmentation of controls for rebinding keys. Poor implementation of HOTAS support. Cockpits that cut off a substantial portion of your view. Mouse interactions not being visible in headset.
The story is intriguing so far and I'd like to see more but I doubt I would play this competitively in PvP. There are far too many control issues atm. At least, if you want to play with a HOTAS.
In the games current state I can't recommend it. Give it a month or so to fix the bugs and see if the reviews start to change.
