Even if Mark hasn't read the novels, he wasn't very far from what those stories tell: An new Jedi grand master, rebuilding the Jedi Academy during the reconstruction of the New Republic. But with a different perspective on how Jedi should be, a more humane way to approach being a Jedi.
The Empire is almost extinct except for a few menacing battles engaged by Grand Admiral Thrawn.
But the biggest menace came from another galaxy. Dangerous to the point where the New Republic has to ally with the remnants of the Empire. Then later the menace comes from within.
These books are so much better than what Star Wars is today. I recommend everyone reads what really happened to the Star Wars universe after Jedi.
Mark's ideas were what should have been. He was on point.
