We get access to first evolution mission, in which you can permanently give one unit type a specific upgrade that allows oyu to change the army more to your preferred playstyle.
Unfortunately certain mutations are just not usable in the campaign often enough to be worth it, and the evolution missions are an unnecessary faff and I wish you could skip them since they are just tutorial missions for each mutation and get old real fast.
The gimmick in the Enemy Within mission is that it plays like a homage to Xenomorph from Aliens franchise. It's supposed to be like a different experience to shake up the regular gameplay but it just makes it feel out of place.
