4The combined fleets entered the Void, but were assailed by shadows. They followed the strange benevolent voice through the darkness, and investigated. There they encountered the voice of Tassadar, who stated he was held prisoner and needed to be freed from the grasp of Emil Narud, who was revealed to be nearby and in his true xel'naga form. He sent void thrashers to engage the three factions.
Together they fought through swaths of void corruption, cleansing the void and setting up forward positions closer and closer to Narud. Eventually, the three factions managed to assail Narud himself, and annihilated his defenses.
Alexei Stukov personally slew Narud with a single corrosive bolt, finally getting revenge for the death and torture he suffered by Narud's hand.
As Kerrigan channeled Ouros's power, she was assaulted by void thrashers. She was able to use her newfound power to annihilate them, but such a power would stall her transfer. Kerrigan's allies set up defensive positions around her, while shadows of the Void came in from all directions. Raynor was forced to send forces to reinforce them before they fell. More void thrashers were summoned to assault Kerrigan, but were quickly dispatched.
Raynor held his position, and Kerrigan managed to channel the power, sending a blast that destroyed the shadows of the void in the area. Kerrigan ordered Zagara to take control of the Zerg Swarm, and to remember the lessons she had taught her.
Two years later, Raynor was sitting in Joeyray's Bar on Mar Sara. On the television, Kate Lockwell was reporting on the third anniversary of the fall of Arcturus Mengsk and the rise of Emperor Valerian Mengsk as ruler of the Terran Dominion, and that Admiral Matt Horner supported this new government along with the Dominion armed forces, as well as peace talks with the Daelaam. Raynor reflected how far he had come, looking at his badge, pictures of his Raiders, and thinking back to his conversations with Horner, Tychus Findlay and Dark Prelate Zeratul. Behind him, the door opened, and a human Kerrigan entered. She asked him if he was ready to go. Raynor smiled and replied, "Hell... It's about time."
Raynor was never seen again; his badge was recovered in Joeyray's Bar.
Under Valerian, the Dominion entered a new era of reconstruction and peace. Zagara, new ruler of the Zerg Swarm, forcibly took control of Char and surrounding systems. Highlord Alarak refused to join the Daelaam on Aiur, and set out to find his own world for the Tal'darim, allowing any of his warriors who disagreed one chance to stay with the Daelaam. A mysterious bloom of life occurs on previously barren worlds, baffling Dominion scientists.
