Following the Xbox developer direct at the end of January, Xbox fans can expect to see a showcase devoted to Starfield, a new and exciting upcoming IP for the xbox platform. Now, Starfield has already been delayed once. The game was supposed to be released this past fall 2022; however, the game has been delayed and Microsoft has declared the game is going to be released H1 2023. I've said it before and I'll say it again…I'm all about delaying games in order for consumers to get a high quality product and the true vision of the game, but these production companies must be accurate when stating new release windows/dates. If Starfield gets delayed again, trust is lost, and that is something that Xbox doesn't need right now…as this is a make a break year for the platform coming off a lack-luster 2022. Despite this, Microsoft should have been giving fans these solo shows for AAA first party titles a long time ago. Sony has been doing showcases like this for as long as I can remember. If Starfield is going to be a major IP for the Xbox in the future, then this showcase is a must to hype this game. I'm excited to see what Xbox/Bethesda has in store for all of us with Starfield, as the 2023 lineup should be a fantastic year for gaming.

Xbox is also rolling out a new energy saving option, in which consoles will enter full shutdown automatically. Is this something players are concerned about? Personally, I always put my consoles into full shutdown. The console boots incredibly fast, so I really don't see the need for stand by or quick resume…but maybe I'm too old school.
