Here we are finally, episode 1 of my "Stories From" series, where I am playing through the story line of the State of Decay franchise so far. In this run we'll be going through the main game of State of Decay 1, attempting to get all the main story completed.

I played a bit previous to this ep, to get back into the feel of the combat, though I am still a bit rusty.
I always start by circling the tents around the Ranger Station. I do this to ensure I get at least 2 large backpacks, as they have a good chance to spawn from the tents. This way I can guarantee both Marcus and Maya have one. If they don't spawn its also quick to exit and restart.
There is a brief cut as I am leaving Mt. Tanner, removing some failed attempts at jumping the bridge...the cut is smooth, but figured I'd be honest that it was not a first time attempt haha
-Thankfully the tutorial missions go smoothly and we get to Spencers Mill without issue. The following few missions go decently too, though I am now remembering how bombarded with missions you are....
Next I'll work on building up the resources/base. Additionally, I'll try clearing out a few of the missions and rescue Lilly's Brother.

As mentioned in some posts, this run is with the intent of getting a fully walkthrough of the State Of Decay story. This Season will be the main game of SOD-1, with Lifeline following, before we jump back to SOD-2.
Back in the day, I'd been following this games development from early on. Around its release I played it constantly and while its been a long time, this is most definitely not a first time run. I will however not have remembered every little detail, meta and what not.
SOD-1is an older game, so it has some hitches and it can be brutal to even story characters. As this is meant to cover the lore, I will be doing my best to keep every main character alive I can. This means I WILL use manual backup saves as needed, copied from the game's save folder. I'll do my best to minimize their use, but I won't accept losing a story character due to game wonkiness/BS. I expect this to come mostly into play during Lifeline, as its a chaotic mess with squishy NPC civies.
[MODS]
I am not using anything that alters gameplay, as of now, instead I am using a modified Config file to adjust some of the graphical settings not available in the game menus. Basically boosting view distance, LOD, shadows, etc. It also has the added effect of fixing some of the lighting issues when using ultra presets. The settings/instructions can be found here:
