I begin by looting some of the cleared areas from last time and setting up my base for power.

- There is a splice at about the 1hr mark. I had meant to pause the game + recording, just before heading out to rescue Ryan's "Partner" and unfortunately stopped recording instead. I then proceeded to do the mission chain with Ryan and Jen and didn't notice until I finished. As such I logged back in and decided keep playing to add in the additional missing time for the ep.
- What was missed in the rescue:
The mission took me to 2 houses out near the fields that were out of plague territory. The fight to save Ryan's partner got a bit messy with the NPC's not having a sense of self preservation.....as usual. His partner's A.I. broke in the downed state and I had to leave the area and come back for her to respawn, fixing her A.I.
After that we all got back to base without issue. His partner was a decent candidate, but had no 5th skill and per the run rules I can only recruit people like her if I have a 1-Star book in my locker. Unfortunately I'd just recruited one to burn my Lichenology book at the start of the episode and didn't have any others. As such I had to Exile her immediately.
- I was contemplating not having power at all, but decided to just go ahead and grab the Mt. Tanner station. It gives me an outpost up there I can use, though for some reason you cannot deposit rucks at them...despite them being non-upgradable.
- As all the Heartbreaking I did last episode burned through my stockpile, I'll likely spend the next few looting the cleared areas and doing side missions that come up.

Season Note:

- While this run won't push me to the extreme, the challenge comes from having to utilize survivors I'd generally pass up. Then take them and try to make them work into a successful community.
- The run will also allow me to highlight some of these oft ignored 5th skills and how they can be utilized in your runs to fill roles/niches...either full time or temporary.
- An example being, Tattoo's 5th skill having having a high chance of Hygiene Standards as a Hero Bonus, boosting your communities plague resistance. This is on top of providing basic medicine, arts and an influence bonus.
- As for the map selection it was really just variety. I've now played through all the maps at least once and I want to keep things a bit fresh. In this case picking maps so they're not being played back to back on the channel.
- Is something spicier is what you're looking for, I have a few more ideas coming that I need to do more prep/research on. So in the mean time I hope you can enjoy this run.

Challenge Rules:

1) I can only recruit survivors with one of the Quirk/One Star 5th skills.
2) Any survivor recruited as part of a group, without a 1-star, must be exiled ASAP.
3) Recruiting of survivors with no 5th skill is allowed, but ONLY if I already have a 1-Star skill book in my locker (Fishing, Lichenology, Sleep Psychology, etc) to train them in immediately.
4) No Red Talon agents. While only having 1-Star 5th skills, they're a bit too OP and outside the normal survivor pool.
5) No starting with Lichenology or Recycling quirk 5th skills. While I'll allow them later, they're decently common picks and I wanted to highlight a few others initially.
