Statler and Waldorf Review 3 systems of the most successful game company in the world
Flame shield activated!
Answering some of the questions that have been asked:
Boy and his blob: incredibly frustrating and feels very unfinished. The reboot is great, but I'm surprised the original got a cult following. It is fun to mess with Blobert's morphing powers though.
Megaman X: not terrible, but out of all the Megaman X games it is the one that has aged the worst
Actraiser: The city simulation parts are awesome, but the platforming is pretty subpar. Ironically the sequel is my favorite of the two and its ONLY platforming...
Doom: Doom on the Pc is awesome, but the SNES port is a blurry piece of trash
Super Metroid: Probably the biggest surprise on this list, though I'm not afraid to say that I I really hate this game. Its just so unremarkable, confusing, repetitious, and BORING. Screw you Screwattack, this shouldn't have been the number 1 SNES game.
Space Station Silicon Valley: the game as a whole is very good, but certain levels are unforgivingly hard. The lack of any checkpoints also make some of the levels super tedious and an unfortunate glitch that makes one of the games collectibles impossible to grab makes it impossible to see the game's secret level and best ending without cheating.
Rayman 2: As with Megaman X it isn't a bad game, but when compared with the other games in the franchise it hasn't aged well
Secret of Mana: I personally love it, I don't think its overrated at all
Chrono Trigger: Now THIS game is insanely overrated, I'm not surprised it hasn't gotten a proper sequel. Its almost as stupidly overrated as FF7
Tonic Trouble: an adventure platformer made by the same guys who made Rayman, the original version was on the PC, it was good but the N64 port was TERRIBLE.
Conker's Bad Fur Day: The only memorable part of this game is the Great Mighty Poo, and even he is a overrated piece of trash (literally). The music, controls, and graphics are just "meh", but the platforming is frustrating, the areas are dull and confusing to get around in, and the "context sensitive" things are a TOTAL NIGHTMARE TO PLAY. The game's biggest selling point is its humor, and that may just be the worst part. The humor seems to only involve lame sex and poo jokes, and every single one-liner and gag seems horribly forced. The voice acting is good, but the voices themselves are worse than Slippy and Navi combined. Conker's voice is the worst of all, and I kinda wished they stuck with the ending where he commits suicide...
The silver lining of Rare dying is that we will NEVER see a proper sequel to this abomination that deserves none of the popularity it has!
