Steam In-Home Streaming Beta Test Demonstration
As I say in the video (assuming you can understand me), this is recorded via a phone, so not the most ideal quality, however it was the only way I could get both screens in shot (so you could see any lag and compare). The top screen is my main PC, it is the machine running the games, while the bottom screen is a laptop streaming the games
The colour is washed out on the laptop, it's hard to say if that's just because it's a laptop screen (it certainly is to a large extent) or if it is in some part due to the compression of the video being sent to it (as was the case with OnLive).
I was also sat at the back of the room so I could make sure the camera was working. This meant that when things went wrong I couldn't do anything about it, such as Assassin's Creed needing me to hit 'enter'. Not sure why it did that, I've only ever played it with a controller, presumably though it's because there isn't a controller plugged in to the main pc as I'm using it on the laptop. Same with Batman, if I was near my mouse I could have just clicked on to my desktop and back in to the game.
The reason I used this footage is that both of those are real problems with in-home streaming. Both easily solved, but both things that would have occurred if I'd been using a pc hooked up downstairs or in another room.
And finally, once again, sorry the quality isn't a little better, both in terms of the picture and the recording of my voice, I'm sat behind the phone.
